For the second evening in a row, photographer Will Parris took some great shots at the Big West Tournament. While Cal Poly battled most of the game, they could not stop Orlando Johnson, who ended his Gaucho career with 5 straight victories over the Mustangs.

Will did report that the Cal Poly band was the best one in the tournament and I also heard that Musty dominated the Mascot Mayhem Pentathlon (left), so there’s that. Enjoy the photos.

Will Parris (www.parris-studios.com) took some great pictures of the first round game between Long Beach State and UC Davis. It’s clear that Long Beach State is the team to beat in this tournament. Notice especially how high Casper Ware is getting up and how dominant some of the 49ers dunks look.

Long Beach State plays upstart UC Irvine tonight in the second round of the Big West Tournament.

After handling the Titans at Mott Gym earlier in the season, the Mustangs were blown out on the road.

The loss drops Cal Poly to 4-6 in the Big West Conference.

Senior Will Taylor scored 10 points to pace the Mustangs, who allowed the Titans to shoot a whopping  57.4% from the field including 65.2% in the second half.

Fansmanship had not one, but TWO photographers at the game covering the action. Thanks to Will Parris and Bryce Ashland – both of whom (it seems) got as many great shots as the Titans… .

What? Not even a chuckle? Don’t worry, I won’t quit my day job.
