Especially so, given the fact that Cal Poly dominated the SHS Bearkats in total yardage (387-241)and led in every statistical category (including turnovers and penalties, to our demise) except for the final score of 18-16. More impressive, Cal Poly accomplished this in the Bearkats own backyard. Knowing that the Mustangs could’ve, should’ve defeated the likes of Sam Houston State & Montana State, I was looking forward to a projected showdown with the Brock Spack-coached Illinois State Redbirds. (But I may have already jinxed them, as I had tabbed Brock Spack as the next Purdue coach.)Cal Poly has a great foundation to build on for 2013, with 18 returning starters.
