Sounds like a layering situation. I’m going to do the Lighthouse and Wildflower rides this year for sure, but if you know of any other ones in California, especially on the Central Coast, let me know.

Last summer, I rode in Midnight Madness in San Diego – a 20-mile ride around the harbor and through old-town. Super-chill and super-fun.

Yep, great ride. Temp is cold in the morning (40ish degrees) then heats up to 70s/80s by the afternoon. The year I did it, it was a high of 75. It’s just a casual ride, the altitude doesn’t affect you too much, just stay hydrated.

Thanks Matt! Have you done the Tour De Tahoe? What’s the temp up there usually like in Sept? Is is a ride, race, gran fondo? I would imagine it might be as hard as a normal century with the altitude….

That’s a good clip Owen, glad you finished it. A great ride/event is the Tour De Tahoe in September, it’s 70ish miles around Lake Tahoe, gorgeous views (and challenging)
